Healthy Drinks

What is a Healthy Drink?
A healthy drink hydrates your body without a lot of sugar or calories. Water is the healthy drink kids and adults should have with meals and snacks! Other healthy drinks include unflavored low-fat or skim milk.
Tips to Help Your Child Consume Healthy Drinks
  • Swap juice and soda for water or plain milk.
  • Encourage water consumption by letting your child choose a water bottle or cup of their choice.
  • Make water accessible to your child throughout the day, not just at meal time.
  • Add pieces of fruit or cucumber to water for a refreshing treat!

What About Juice?

Fruit juice, even 100% juice, is not a better option than water. They have as much sugar and calories as soda. 100% fruit juice is not the same as eating a piece of whole fruit. Juice does not have any fiber like whole fruit does.
