​How Much Physical Activity Does Your Preschooler Need?
​60 minutes of unstructured activity:
​activities led by your child such as playing with a ball or on the playground.​

What are the Benefits of Physical Activity?
  • Better focus at school
  • ​Better Sleep and Behavior
  • Healthier Weight
  • Less likely to develop chronic health problems such as Type 2 Diabetes
What can you do to help your child?
  • Take activity breaks. Encourage your child to move if they have been sitting for more than 15 minutes.
  • Encourage your child to play outside, even in cold weather (dress warmly). If it is too cold outside, try walking around a large indoor space like a mall or community center. 
  • Turn up the music, clear a space, and dance!
